Concrete Effects LLC has years of installing overlay and coating systems. We use quality materials and follow manufacturer installation instructions. Below are the general steps we follow to ensure that the products are installed correctly:
  • Surface Preparation - This is a critical element of a successful job. To ensure the product will adhere to the concrete, we either grind the concrete or we pressure wash, acid etch, neutralize, and rinse.
  • Installation of Overlay Materials
    • For Thin-Stamp overlay projects we install a base coat of material, a bond coat of material, and then a 1/4 inch think coat of stampable material. We then use texture skins to imprint that texture on the overlay material.
    • For Trowel-Down overlay projects we install two base coats of material followed by a texture coat of material.
    • For Micro-Topping overlay projects we install two base coats of material followed by two coats of micro-topping material.
  • Installation of Coating Materials
    • We install a prime coat of material, a body coat of material that we generally broadcast either vinyl chips or quartz into, and finally, a clear top coat of material.
  • Finishing Touches - We use many different coloring techniques. These range from acid stains, water based stains, acetone dyes, acrylic coloring, to integral coloring. It all depends on what type of look the customer is after. We at Concrete Effects LLC work very hard to provide the best coloring method for the application.
  • Project Completion - We seal using acrylic sealers, water-based sealers, polyaspartic polyurea coatings, or epoxy to protect the overlay materials.
